I was acquainted with Sylvia in our younger years.  She worked for my Dad who was the General Manager of The Automotive (originally First Supply Co.) which was down on about the 200 block of Tyler I believe.  At the time it was the biggest retail automotive store in Amarillo and there were numerous locations in town and in nearby cities. I remember she worked in his office doing general business and accounting. We met there at some point and neither of us were currently dating anyone.  So she asked me out on a date. Really!  Actually, she just let me know that she was a pool shark and she challenged me.  The loser had to buy the other one dinner and she lost.  I can't remember where we ate but it seems like it was Steak and Ale. I let her think she was going to have to buy the meal, but I had already informed the waiter (secretly) not to except her payment.  We always remained friends after that. She got married, and so did I. I got divorced. She didn't. During my divorce of 21 years I would see her and her husband out and about on their Harleys. They both had a Harley of their own, she road hers.  Of course I have had Harleys most of my adult life. They were big members of the H.O.G, Harley Owners Group riding club.  She was a very kind, sweet spirit.

I encourage those that knew her better to leave a note.

Thank you,

Mark J.
